Whole House Video

Most video systems consist of a video source like a DVD player connected directly to a television or audio video receiver. If all that you want to do is watch a movie on one video display then you are golden.

An alternative to that approach is to use the concept of whole house video systems. This is a fancy term to describe having the same video sources available on multiple video displays. Let's say that I have an Apple TV, a Kaleidescape media server, a high definition cable box and a standalone Blu-Ray disc player. And let's also assume that we have a video display in the family room, the bedroom, the kitchen and the office. A video distribution system allows each of these sources to be accessed from each room. Everything from security cameras, VCRs, DVDs, to high definition satellite receivers and cable boxes can be routed anywhere in your home.
